Children and adolescents often present with unique ulcers, masses, pigmentation and other lesions in the oral cavity. Radiographic oral pathology unique to pediatric patients may be incidentally identified or the chief complaint of a patient’s visit to the dentist. Recognizing the clinical and radiographic presentation on various entities that are commonly identified in a developmental age group will provide clinical confidence and ease of management.  Development of a differential diagnosis and subsequently the identification of the type of disease process will be a primary emphasis. Clinical cases representing an inflammatory process, a systemic process and a neoplastic process in pediatric patients will provide the framework for this seminar. This course is relevant to all clinical practitioners who treat pediatric patients.

• Discuss the differential diagnoses and management of common and uncommon pediatric pathologies in developmental age groups
• Develop an algorithm for adjunct testing and imaging that may be required to further characterize the disease process
