Happy National Children's Dental Health Month!
National Children’s Dental Health Month (NCDHM) provides an opportunity for the pediatric dental community to raise awareness about the importance of children’s oral health and its direct connection to overall health and well-being.
To kick off this year’s NCDHM, AAPD President Dr. Tom Ison led a national satellite media tour, focused on driving home the importance of the Age 1 Visit and what families can do at home to foster optimal oral health, as well as Medicaid updates that may affect families.
For the VAPD, NCDHM is more than a public service announcement. It’s a call to action. Tooth decay remains the most common preventable chronic disease in children, and gaps in education, access, and resources continue to affect too many families. Clear, consistent messaging delivered by trusted experts is critical to closing those gaps.
